Digital Images To send digital images to be considered for the Online Gallery: Please read the following information. Mail or fax the completed release form. Email image information and digital images OR postal mail image information and digital images on a disk. An online image description form has been provided for your use. Formatting the Images Remember the bulk of the users on the Web still have slower modems and/or connections. Ideally your final file size should be 150k or less to insure faster loading of your image. Otherwise, many potential viewers will never take the time to view your work. Perhaps utilize the skills of a friend who might have some image editing software (Photoshop or other) to optimize the tradeoff between image quality and fast loading times. Digital Camera Having work photographed with a digital camer is the best way. For fastest loading on the Web page, photograph at a low 640 x 480) resolution. Ideally your camera can save as a jpeg image. You may also want to photograph at higher resolutions for other purposes. Scanning Actual Work If work fits onto a flatbed scanner, scan to 200 to 300 dpi and use image editing software to resize down and save it as a more efficient jprg image. Scanning Slides or Photographs Start with high quality originals. Same as above - except for slide scanning. Most people that have a slide scanner will know how their specific scanner operates.
