Nadine Sanders - Singing Weaver

Nadine with her mentor, Joyce Harter Singing Weaver Logo    The alchemy of weaving and music is a powerful combination and drives my creative energy.
As artist I teach, design, weave, write, promote and sell weavings ... all of which center on the Theo Moorman weave structure.
I weave clothing, rugs and wallhangings with a focus on pictorial design.
As musician I sing with the women's vocal ensemble, Straw Into Gold, arrange and write songs, listen to and appreciate a world of music, and teach private piano lessons.
I sing songs of weaving, farming, hearth and heart.
As the Singing Weaver, I strive to touch all of the senses by integrating the visual aspects of art and the aural aspects of music in all my endeavors. My inspiration comes from writings, music, wilderness outings and my childhood roots on a Midwest farm.

Education

A Speech-Communications degree and musical training from St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN laid the foundation for my journey. My mentor, Joyce Harter opened the gate to weaving and I received my formal education in fiber arts at the Oregon School of Arts, Portland, OR.
